LOHC Power System
Our mission is to develop a complete hydrogen-based power systems for ships based on the unique Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carrier (LOHC) technology. Our system consists of a LOHC release unit that through an endothermic reaction will release hydrogen from the LOHC- benzyl toluene, and on demand feed it to a hydrogen off-taker typically a PEM fuel cell or H2 combustion engine (H2 ICE) that generates electricity available for the ship. Our team in Norway have long experience with providing power to the marine industry and therefore understand the need to provide complete systems with class approval that can easily be integrated with other energy units and the ship power system.
LOHC – Benzyl toluene is a proven technology and when loaded with hydrogen it can be handled and stored as diesel/MGO. This facilitates the possibility of using already existing marine gas oil infrastructure to both carry and store H2 – LOHC. In other words, with LOHC as a fuel there is limited need to invest or build new infrastructure to reach Zero Carbon solution for shipping.
Our LOHC power system realise true zero emission ship propulsion!
